[FONT=Tahoma, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial]Dear Mr XXXX

The Parking Charge Notices are not issued by the hotel, but by Civil Enforcement Ltd as detailed on the Parking Charge Notice which also explains the appeals process.

Due to the car park being abused by non-residents who were not using the hotel facilities, but using the area as a free car park the hotel decided to transfer the management of the car park to Creative Parking Limited in XXXX.

I am sorry you found the receptionist rude and unhelpful, but they do receive regular abuse and threats as per your original e-mail which I found very unhelpful as we do not respond to threats.

As we have not issued the ticket we cannot revoke the Parking Charge Notice.

I suggest you contact Civil Enforcement Limited and follow their appeals process.

The hotel will also contact Creative Parking to see if we can assist as a matter of goodwill and has nothing to do with your threats.

    Yours sincerely
    XXXX

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!! OK, the charge has been cancelled but if a business spoke to me like that I'd be taking my custom elsewhere regardless and telling them why.

Might be worth pointing out to him that the hotel CAN cancel as CEL are THEIR agents - what he meant to say is that the hotel WON'T cancel. As was proven by the fact they got it .... well .... cancelled !

    Quite.

    Dear XXXX

Whilst I thank you for getting the charge overturned I do not appreciate your attitude and as a result I have instructed my admin staff not to book your hotel for our visitors in future.

I feel relieved now that I don't have to go through the appealing process. But I am still angry how I was treated in the whole process. I used the hotel's car park for a genuine reason, and was demanded to pay £100. Civil Enforcement Ltd only wanted to see the money. The hotel receptionist did not want to liston to any explanantion, and lied that the car park did not belong to the hotel. The hotal manager thought that I was treatening and blackmailing them when I siad I would share my experience in social media if they did not listen to my explanation. I replied to the manager and told him that it will be a complete mistake to let CEL to manage their car park. It will bring them more trouble in the future, just like what has happened to Co-op. I will never go to that hotel any more. Nor willl any of our invited guests and speakers.

Who are Creative Parking? I thought that it was Civil Enforcement Ltd who issued the parking charge.

Also worth logging onto Tripadvisor and giving the hotel a good slating there.

It was an independent one but recently became part of a chain. After that, it suffered a major fire accident and no wonder they are hiring CEL to earn some extra cash.
