    Well I took a deep breathe and looked underneath the RAM (figured if I was going to change it might as well try to get it out now) and it was indeed DDR3. So will punt on an upgrade and see how it goes. But I have friends with the same notebook and they all report it is slow. So we'll see.

    I told you. Run a clean install, formatting the disc. You have the recovery image in your inbox, replete with instructions.

    There appears to be no reason why the Netbook is that slow, other than the awful Samsung software.

    My ACER has an Atom N270 running Starter on 1.5GB RAM and runs smoothly in comparison to the N150 Plus. So hopefully a clean install will improve matters.
