Can you reclaim past credit card charges?

Sorry if this information is elsewhere on the site but I couldn't find it.
A few years ago I got into a running charges problem with my barclaycard that ended up costing me hundreds of pounds in a few months.
In light of the reclaiming bank charges breakthrough and the recent caps imposed on credit card charges I thought that maybe the past extortionate charges could maybe be reclaimed?
If not then no bother but god loves a tryer.
