HELP!!! what's eating all my veg?

I'm very new to gardening and have a new raised bed. I've planted carrots, radish, cauliflower, little gem, beetroot, cut flowers. Everything was doing well but something has eaten the tops off the carrots leaving just a tiny bit of green and is parts of the cauliflower and radish and little gem leaves. They are young shoots and not growing particularly fast (unless I'm just being impatient). There are black ants in the soil and on some veg, could it be them munching?

More likely slugs or snails or rabbits if you have them .#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Definitely not rabbits as its quite a high raised bed. There's no sign of snails or slugs and I can't understand how the weight of the little critters wouldn't pull the whole leaf down. Could it be carrot fly on the carrots?0

Rabbits can and do climb and jump so don't dismiss them. Go out in the late evening and take a good look.
Carrot fly lay eggs that tunnel into the carrot itself they don't eat leaves.#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Our rabbits can climb over a small brick wall which is over a foot high.0 -
If it was rabbits wouldn't they eat the whole green bit? only a little bit from the top of each has gone and the leaves of the others have nibbles in them, not totally munched?
Is it definitely not the ants? how can I get rid of the ants from the raised bed?0 -
It is definitely not ants. Ants are not a problem for growing veg.0

Not to hijack thread, but dies anyone know what could have eaten my magnolia buds, please?
We came home from holiday to find fat buds, do I was delighted not to have missed the flowers, until I looked closer! Every bud looks as if it has a big bite taken from it!Member #14 of SKI-ers club

At what time are you looking ? Slugs are nocturnal and will vanish completely in the day (apaprently they can squeeze themselves into the smallest little gaps. Try going out with a torch late at night (but watch where you're stepping!)0 -
Go out at night with a torch you, d be surprised whats sneaking around.0
