Well, it's been a full 2 months now, and I've heard nothing. Reading other threads suggests that APCOA had 35 days to respond to the appeal - have I got that right?
If so, what is your suggestion - do I just let time pass (presumably the longer they take, the weaker any remaining case they have is), or do I write to them demanding to know why they have not responded and, while I am at it, report them for breaching their guidelines?
I am very tempted by the latter course, but it seems more sensible to keep my head down.
I should be grateful for any thoughts you have.0 -
I have now received a standard DRP letter, but still have not heard anything from APCOA since I put the appeal in nearly 3 months ago.
I therefore intend to:-
1. Email DRP, using wording based on zzzLazyDaisy's template, warning them to cease and desist, and to refer the matter back to their client (a waste of time in some posters' eyes, I know, but I like the idea).
2. Email the ccrt at the DVLA and Steve Clark at the BPA along the lines suggested in the Newbies sticky, post #6, complaining about the fact that APCOA have not issued me with a POPLA code, or even bothered to reply to my appeal. I would copy this to APCOA, but I can't find an email address on any of their crap and it seems a shame to waste a good stamp on them.
Before I do, do any of you experts on here have any comments or guidance for me? I don't think I need help with wording these emails - I think I am quite capable of putting together a suitably strongly worded complaint, but if there is anything particular to watch out for, please let me know. In particular, has the move to the FCA this year changed the recommended wording in Daisy's template?
I don't know if APCOA have actually replied to my appeal and it hasn't arrived (seems unlikely) or if it has arrived but I have missed it (very unlikely). I suspect they just haven't bothered and have instead decided to try their luck with the DRP letter. In any case, do you think I should also write to them again, or continue to wait for a response?
Any and all thoughts gratefully received!0 -
I reckon APCOA will pretend they have already replied and show you an old letter with an expired POPLA code. Seen it all before. Just warning you! But no, nothing has changed and your plan is the right one except I wouldn't bother to reply to DRP at all. Just an email to the DVLA and BPA.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
