As posted, most policies exclude damage to tyres.0 -

As posted damage to tyres ( including " bursts") is excluded in most policies.0 -

Specifically damage to tyres. So they don't pay for a puncture. But equally, neither do they reduce the claim by the value of the damaged tyres for other accidents if a tyre is damaged. So in tis case, there is a good chance the car will be repaired back to it's pre accident condition, and not returned on a rim.0 -

Really hope not as I got the recovery service to put on my nearly new spare...
But seriously, I appreciate your thoughts, and will report back on the outcome just for your info / satisfaction.0 -

For info. the outcome was that all the damage covered by the burst tyre was covered by my insurance (less my excess of course). Replacement tyre was not.
When I phoned to make a claim, the initial and fairly immediate response was that a burst tyre was not covered by insurance (and neither was the related damage).
I asked a second time stressing it was the damage I was wishing to claim for, person asked if I would like her to double check with a colleague, my answer was 'yes please'. Outcome was then it was covered, but not the tyre.
It definitely pays to ask for advice first and so be confident enough to be a bit more insistent if you do not get the answer you want first time.0 -
How much has that claim impacted your premium though? You need to declare it for upto 5 years.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
