Canelling order

Options
I recently ordered a wing mirror from my local garage who ordered it from a supplier. Within the hour I discovered that I could get the same thing elsewhere for half the price and immediately contacted the garage to ask if I could cancel. They said that I can't because they are not allowed to make returns to their supplier.

Am I legally allowed to refuse the service in this situation or will I have to suck it up?

Cheers.

Unless it a model no one else has ever heard of, everything can go back.

you have up to 7 days after delivery to cancel the order under Distance Selling Regulations.

What terms they have to their supplier is of no concern of yours, that's their problem.

Might be worth posting this on the consumer rights board and someone can tell you the ins and outs of it all.

If you bought it in the garage then you have no right to cancel. The time to do a price check is before you buy.

Thought as much. Worth checking though.

Sorry, I read that as it was ordered at a distance, not in person, in which case the previous poster is correct, you are at the mercy of the garage's returns policy.

The DSR only applies to suppliers that run an organised distance sales or service provision scheme, so phoning up a garage for a part which doesn't run an organised scheme won't be covered by the DSR.

If you are phoning up for a part you are making a verbal contract to purchase the part and if you still want to order the part after being told that once it's ordered it can't be cancelled, it's your decision.

No, no it can't. If a business doesn't allow another business to return goods then tough. If a shop doesn't allow a consumer to change their mind and return goods then tough.

Too much misleading advice coming from you

Well that's one way. Doesn't change anything in legal terms though, just relies on the hope the garage don't have the balls or time to pursue op.
