    Seems that it will: https://www.gov.uk/cbt-compulsory-basic-training/cbt-if-you-have-a-car-driving-licence

Re insurance I would not think it would cost that much to uplift it to fully comp.
Plus it is a free bike.

    Quote from link:

You can ride a moped without L plates and without taking the full motorcycle test if either:
    • you have a car driving licence and a compulsory basic training (CBT) certificate
    • you passed your driving test before 1 February 2001
You must complete a CBT course to confirm your full moped licence if you passed your car driving test on or after 1 February 2001.
Your CBT certificate for riding mopeds is then valid for as long as your car driving licence.
Mopeds have a maximum engine size of 50cc and a maximum speed of approximately 31mph.

It says before you tick which one to choose flick back a couple of pages to see them.
How do you check which one you's like. How do you flick the page back ?

Got this link from an email sent to me via more bikes.co.uk

Win a scooter! A 50cc or 125cc Nipponia scooter, plus insurance!

Simple entry, choose which one you would like to win.

Win! a Nipponia scooter of your choice! (50cc or 125cc*) Plus insurance
All in our free to enter scooter competition package worth around £1750

Simply fill in your details for the chance to win a brand new scooter - seems too good to be true? We thought that too.

However, it really is true… the guys at Moore Large & Co of Derby have agreed to let us have a brand-new scooter to give away in our competition - what's more, you can choose* which one you like from their range! Aren't they great?!

With a 50cc and three 125cc models to choose from, take a look at which machine would suit you and your licence requirements best. Simply tick the box on the entry form, telling us which you would prefer from the Neon, Brio, Miro and Dion.

Not sure which one to pick? We've outlined the models on the previous two pages, so flick back a page and decide which scooter you can see yourself riding round on. It's a hard decision, we know…

Not only will you win the scooter, but we've taken care of insurance too. Leading scooter insurance specialist, Lexham, will be providing the lucky winner with a year's free Third Party Only insurance - up to the value of £250**.

*We're a responsible lot here at Twist and Go, so to claim your prize licence/age restrictions apply - read conditions for details. Documentation or proof may be required prior to us handing over the prize to you. No valid licence or CBT could mean no prize…

**£250 should cover the Third Party insurance costs for most riders (providing you don't have any penalty points, etc.).

If you wish to upgrade to Third Party Fire & Theft, or Fully Comprehensive insurance, this can be done by you for an additional cost.

PLEASE NOTE: This competition is open only to UK-based readers who are 16 years or over, who currently hold the correct licence entitlement and CBT (if needed) for their chosen prize - no valid licence = no prize! Documented proof may be required prior to the prize being awarded.

Only one entry per household please.

    TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This competition is open to UK residents only. No financial alternative to the prize will be offered. Only one entry per household please; every entry should be submitted using the form below.

No purchase necessary. The winner will be chosen from the correct entries received. The closing date of the competition is first post on Sept 12, 2014. The judges' decision remains final and no correspondence will be entered into. The name of the winner will be available on demand from the publishers upon receipt of a SAE, and will be published in the first available issue of Twist & Go magazine. Employees (and members of their household) of Mortons Media Group and other companies associated with this competition are ineligible to enter.

Mortons Media Group will not be held responsible for eligible entries or entries lost in the post. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of delivery. The vehicle will be awarded to the winner on a mutually agreed date, where proof of age and licence entitlement may be requested.

Any travelling or other expenses incurred by the winner in collecting the prize are not included. By entering the competition the winner gives his or her consent to be photographed with their prize for use in future editions of Twist & Go and any future advertising/publicity that may take place. Entrants must provide their own transport, to collect the vehicle if they are not riding it away.

The vehicle is awarded as-seen and in good faith. Neither Twist & Go, Mortons Media Group nor any companies involved in the supply or preparation of this competition prize will accept any responsibility for any mechanical breakdowns (outside of normal warranty work), accidents or loss of life and limb arising after the prize winner has taken possession of the vehicle.
