Hi there - hopeless with money, so hope you can help - my last months shopping seems very high on statement (clydesdale) but I can't find a receipt for it. Can I ask for a breakdown of the purchases? I also recall using my nectar card. Thanks in anticipation

If you can ask, then it's certainly the supermarket, not the bank.
Bank's concern is only whether the transaction was authorised or not.0 -
Thanks for your quick response -- it was the supermarket - it may just be my memory at fault!

Only the supermarket could supply this info. Always check your receipt everytime you shop - many's the time I have bought reduced stuff only to find it went through at full price. But then if I actually went into a shop now I would also be adding up a rough amount that would be due at the till. One occasion I was 2p out! But then I'm old school taught by my Mum on how to budget etc.0

Now I am not sure that I understood the question correctly.
Is it just one big transaction in the statement that your want the breakdown for, i.e. what exactly the money was spent on?0 -
Thanks - never taught that lesson here, and I probably could save hundreds on our shopping bill if I just apply a bit more logical thinking when I grab my trolley. I also rarely compare prices - but am seduced by the whole three for two savings - the third of which normally ends up being chucked anyway! I'm going to try this month and only buy what we need - the amount of salad bags and fruit I chuck out at the end of the week is shameful.

Yes Grumbler - just wondering as seeing as I used the nectar card and have the date and everything, whether I could get a copy of the receipt or a breakdown in my statement.0

Actually you could ask your credit card issuer for a copy of the merchant receipt, they will then send the merchant a request for the receipt but the merchant is under no obligation to send it unless it was a swipe and sign transaction.0

If it is Sainsburys (which I assume it is as you mention Nectar) then you can see your itemised bills online on the Brand Match page:amandajeanthomson wrote: »Hi there - hopeless with money, so hope you can help - my last months shopping seems very high on statement (clydesdale) but I can't find a receipt for it.
