Just been to the Brighouse superstore, and none there. Not even a space with an out of stock sign. So I've ordered online, £30.80 for 12 bottles inc. delivery. Thanks OP!

I looked there too yesterday and none left :-/

I ordered 12 bottles of this online last night and the order went through. I had booked a collection slot at my local branch this morning. Just had a phone call from Tescos saying they are out of stock....order cancelled!

Dissapointed that a big "leading" retailer with its multimillion pound stock control computer systems can accept an order then turn round and say "sorry can't do it"!! Also poor that some customers are offered alternative wine at the same price!

    Right....off to Asda!
  • Just had 6 bottles of Cotes de Roussillon delivered and 6 bottles of Cotes Catalanes Carignan subbed. Total price £24.85!
Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.

Most online grocery orders are picked from the shopfloor on the morning of your delivery day (except for Ocado & some Tesco who have warehouses). This is becasue at normal Tesco stores they don't want open stock in the back warehouse and for a lot of fresh items they may not keep stock out the back.

This means that although the computer thinks there is wine on the shelf, if a physical customer picks it up before your home delivery shopper goes to pick it up then they will be out of stock.

The only company who can pretty guarantee they will have stock when they say they do is Ocado, because they only sell onlione so there is no physical customer who can get in first.

Just collected a click and collect order for 12.

11 subs - all decent choices (all finest), and total cost only £26.02.

Am now pushing my luck by making a second (delivery this time) order...

Ordered 12 bottles yesterday for click and collect after work today 9was no availability to collect yesterday) and just got a text to say out of stock so order has been cancelled.

How come some orders get substituted when there's not enough stock whereas others are cancelled? Does it come down to the store?

You have to say that you want substitutions.

I think it comes down to the person who is packing your order. As mentioned on my earlier post - we had 2 orders, one in my name and one in my partner's name. I did them both myself at the same time. One of them was substituted, whilst the other was half missing and they didn't substitute. I asked for substitutions on both of them.

I spoke to customer services but I'm still none the wiser!
