I have seen 2015 VED discs, so I suspect until October it will be business as usual.0 -
Mine came through this month and there was no mention of it anywhere so I'm guessing it'll only change for October renewals onwards.0

V11s are still coming through and still don't mention the new tax regime. Of course this gives the contractors a lovely honeymoon period to negotiate extensions due to the unexpected costs of staff refunding motorists who have a valid paper disc come 1st October, but haven't, and had no reason to, supply DVLA, with their bank details for their new DD and refunds.0

I have got the same issue. My Road Tax will end on the last day of July.
I have got my V11, it doesnt mention anything about hte new regime.
If I purchase Road tax for 12 months... What will this mean for me after October? Will I be able to get it refunded for the remaining months?0 -

There won't be any refunds unless you are taking the car off the road or selling it, the VED will remain just the displaying of the disc is ending.0 -

Right so I am allowed to purchase a 12 month tax disc then come October I do not have to display it any more?0 -

Correct as I understand it.
What I don't understand is why people seem to be so bothered about whether or not they will need to display the disc after October comes along - if it's in the windscreen, is everyone going to go out and remove it then ceremoniously burn the disc?
I shall be buying four lots of VED before the rules change, and each will remain on its carrying vehicle. Probably indefinitely, I don't think I'll be bothered to remove them.0 -
Renewed mine recently for another 12 months, came with the expected May 15 date.
Not sure if I've actually put it in the car, I remember a couple of years ago a policeman pointing out the disc on display was 3 years out of date but he could see from the computer that it was up to date.
May remove it simply to have a clear windscreen but doubt there will be much of a ceremony involved0 -
I'm not too confident the Gov will introduce a new law. "Displaying a tax disk that is not necessarily required." :cool:0
