PPI from BarclayCard

Hello,
I had a Barclaycard which I took out a few years ago.
I had an egg card which was transferred to Barclaycard.
I had PPI on the Egg card and claimed this back. Barclays wrote to me saying that there my be PPI on this card and that I could claim. I spoke to them by phone last year about this and they said that they wasn't any PPI on the card so I left it.
Having looked through some paper work today. I find a PPI Statement from Barclays. I have this in my possession. I have in fact been paying £7.90 per month on this card. I think they have been lying to me slightly.
Can I still make a claim ?

There's nothing stopping you unless you did fill in a form and send it back, or unles they did write to you to tell you your complaint was unsuccessful.

I work for B/card PPI complaints and OP....Just challenge B/card and send in copies of your statements as evidence. They will then reopen your complaint and provide you with an uphold; probably using the average redress calc. However, you must provide a valid reason to warrant an uphold otherwise taff is right they will continue to defend your complaint.

I suggest that you also request B/card to use the IC3 and IC4 calc to work out your redress amount (see my previous posts with regards IC3 and IC4) and then accept the higher redress amount. For info, a lot of CMCs are already doing this to get the higher redress amounts.

They ain't lying....they just don't have all of the statements info for any migrated cards including Egg. You were lucky that you had copies of statements; most people don't so B/card get away with it !

    Good luck.
  • Hello,
Thank you for your very helpful post. I have received a reply from Barclays this morning. Saying there is PPI on my card in which I have been paying since 2000
I have set up a PPI case with them now on there website. To be fair there have replied very quickly. Lets see what happens now.
