P and P on collection

Just wonder. if the seller could impose the p&p if the item is described cash on collection. The p&p is mentioned on the postage cost.

thanks

That is not the case here, seller is posting item.

Sorry for misunderstanding or hijacking this thread. I am actually asking another question as I have seen some sellers require collection in person but still put the price for p&p. I remember that there eBay policy not to allow this but have tried to find the link on eBay but could not. Hence help will be very much appreciated ...

It is best to start a new thread as people will not see yours as a new question otherwise, I've moved it for you now.

Sellers can charge p and p on collection if they want as long as the charge is shown on the listing and not imposed afterwards. It is not good practice and I've seen it only very rarely and not now for many years.

If seller is offering collection and also shows a postage charge it is always best to just clarify before bidding that the postage charge only applies if posted. If postage does still apply then just pay and get seller to post .

If its cash on collection you only pay the bid price. Some of the crappy sellers try to add it on to enhance their profits. But dont pay a penny more than your bid price.

I would use the P&P to stop people paying by paypal for collection items.

    This is an example

After the buyer win. Could they said that because I describe cash on collection you will need to collect it and still asking for the p&p on the top of the winning bid price ?
  • No. They've listed cash on collection as free within the postage and payments tab.
