Yes you can still complain that you were mis-sold. However, your reasons for complaint are diminished. For example, you cant say you were not eligible or that you didnt need it or that you didnt know about it. The claim on the policy shows you did.
Also, if your complaint is successful, then any amount paid out on the claim would be deducted from the redress payment. In many of these cases, the payout on the claim exceeded the payments made in premiums. So, a complaint in that case would be pointless.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thank you for your help
i paid the PPI's for 7 years and made a claim for 4 months, do you think it might be worth making a claim for mis-sold? The reason i am asking is that i have just lost my job and i went to make a claim on them but when i spoke to them all a few months ago and got my accounts put on hold due to financial difficulty they have all gone and cancelled my PPI and i cannot make a claim. No one told me this would be a consequence of my accounts being on hold and feel a bit distraught at it all

As Dunstonh says, if you've already been paid back more than you paid in insurance premiums, you won't receive any more.sparky1501 wrote: »Thank you for your help

They will have informed you the PPI would cease when you ceased paying for it. This is not a valid complaint.sparky1501 wrote: »a few months ago and got my accounts put on hold due to financial difficulty they have all gone and cancelled my PPI and i cannot make a claim.
