Have you still got some of the smaller plastic bottles? If so give them a good wash and rinse then nearly fill and freeze - easy peasy.
I do find that the big bottles take ages to thaw in the fridge though so maybe allow 2 days or so and turn or shake every now and then to get rid of the crystals.

I worry that the farmers are getting underpaid due to this supermarket price war.
Don't worry about it, you are just being told half the facts and then being left to jump to the wrong conclusion.
Farmers have been saying for decades that they get paid, by the supermarkets, less than the production cost of a pit of milk. But they don't tell you about the government & EU grants they get per pint of milk they produce, or the grants they get for other things like doing nothing with land.
And don't think supermarkets are the only people who buy milk from farmers. Milk goes into many foods.0 -
I often buy short date milk (except skimmed) and find that it lasts quite a few days after the use by date. I just keep it in the coldest part of the fridge.Free thinker.:cool:0

It's the fat that causes the milk to go off.
I had some skimmed milk which I used today which was dated 16th and it was still fine.
The milk in Aldi goes off a couple of days before the date. I think Aldi's milk is delivered along with their fresh delivery. The supermarkets get their milk delivered by Robert Wiseman or Arla in separate trucks. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Once there was milk sold in sort of triangular packs that was meant for the freezer.0

I've bitten the bullet lately and just bought the Cravendale semi skimmed when it's on offer. It lasts for ages and I don't have throw it out gone off which I was with regular semi skimmed milk.0
