Help Required On PPI

I had loans and credit cards between the years of 1998 to 2003 that amounted too being refinanced to around £30,000 with one company.
I am unsure of the companies I had these loans and credit cards with but I'm sure I always took out PPI. Is there a letter that someone has used on here successfully writing to certain banks/companies asking or requesting agreements that I had with them and asking them to send me the details of these agreements to see whether I had PPI on them?
Obviously I have looked on my credit files that only goes back six years. So If anyone is aware of how to find details of loans etc going back 16 years, I would be very grateful.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you

The only thing you can do is send £10 and a SAR to each company you think you may have had credit with.
This could prove to be an expensive waste of time, because the older the credit, the less likely there will be records.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
