Obtaining credit from gas/elec account
Options
Hi,
We're first time buyers and moved into a house about 6 months ago. We set up a gas/electric account with Eon, due to no previous history we were given estimated rate of £90 per month based on house size for first 6 months then a review. The 6 months will be up in next few weeks and I've worked out we'll be about £300 in credit.
Just wondering what typically happens in this situation, what I would like is to get a refund of about £200 and leave the rest to pay off next few months with revised monthly DD after.
Anyone got any experience or knowledge what usually happens.
Thanks

Morning dom31
The first thing to do is to take some meter readings, pop these on your online account (if you have one) then make sure you're billed up to these reads.
Once you've got the bill, it will show you the true credit balance.
You should have a review, this is when we refund anything over £5 and re-calculate your Direct Debit for the next 12 months.
If you do have an online account though, you can use the Direct Debit manager to change your payments yourself, pop your reads on first though.
If you need any help, just askand don't forget to have a quick look at the tariffs to make sure you;re on the best one.
