Replacement window handles...upvc/wooden

Hi Ive got a wee problem....I have bought some replacement handles for UPVC off ebay...I checked the brand which had good reviews etc...however when they have arrived they state they are for wooden window frames...does it matter? Im struggling to see whats actually different about them.
