Poor carpet - cant get resolution

Hello
We had a living room carpet fitted in late Feb , since then , its started showing air bubbles underfoot , as in you can see the outline of your feet when walking on it , its started to fray in places , basically not fit for purpose and poor fitting
We paid the company to fit it also
I have asked them to come and look and see the carpet but they keep fobbing me off the the manufacturer , as apparently , they `have` to with issues of this nature , i said to them , that is fine but i am aware my contract is with them , not their supplier.
This was 6 weeks ago , and 5 weeks ago i took a call from a guy sat in their premises , telling me he will `sort it out`...since then , nothing , the carpet is getting worse as time goes by.
The retailer is not a member of any carpet retailer schemes or codes of practice groups etc , i have last week , sent a LBA using a template from the CAB website as i have no hope at all that they intend to help me here , i have asked and asked them to come and see it , and they havent even bothered to do that , so i feel small claims is my only hope
Any advice guys?
Thanks

Did you pay by credit card? You may be able to claim it back. Otherwise you do have protection through the sale of goods act. You could write a letter reiterating that under the act, the carpet supplied is not fit for purpose.0
