I was initially looking at the C1 and it's 'twins' but when I looked into it and realised they didn't have much bigger engines it made me think again, hence my original question.
I don't really want to change my car but the body is getting quite rusty and I have been told it may be an MOT failure
There are MOT failures and MOT failures - don't write it off just because of a phrase - you would want to know how much to fix.
A bit rusty - could be tidied up, but together with repairs for MOT it may well be more than it is worth.
I think the important thing to bear in mind here that there are a wide range of users with different opinions on what is a satisfactory car. The car you have really is at the low end of the performance spectrum so you are probably going to find that nearly anything else is an improvement.
I guess what you would really need is a test drive with a few of your heftier friends along!0 -
I had a Matiz for a week or so as a courtesy car, it was motoring at its most basic which is fine but I found it to be marginally faster than a glacier and terrifying at a big roundabouts where ideally you needed a weeks notice in order to pull out into flowing traffic, however the little 1.2 fiat 500 that followed was a hoot to drive.0

I lease a 1L Kia Picanto and it's fine around town but with my mum and all of our shopping in it, driving up the local hills is a challenge to say the least!
I should have got the 1.2 which apparently performs much better. Other than that, I love the car. And I can pull away at roundabouts and traffic lights just fine. I beat a Ferrari the other day (only because he was waiting for the flashing amber to turn green, but still)

I'm with barbiedoll on this one. I don't have problems pulling away, it really is just the steeper hills and when it's loaded.0 -

The 1.25 Picanto is surprisingly nimble, and doesn't struggle on hills at all. The 7 year warranty was the clincher. The Hyundai i10 is similar, but with a five year warranty.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
