eBay invitations littered with errors

Ok, so this is a rant really, I am just amazed at how many wedding invitation/save the date samples I have received recently with errors on them. (All from eBay).

I am looking for wedding invites, pre-printed on nice thick card. You would think the samples would 100% represent the quality and feel of the invite you'd eventually order. WRONG.

I have received samples with spelling errors, grammar errors, folded badly, printing scuff marks, low quality card, bent and best of all only one out of three sellers seemed bothered.

All had excuses, ranging from dyslexia (fine excuse for the initial error, but if you're a business you'd be aware of your downfall and get it checked) and 'it's only a sample'. Well yes but I am looking to spend £250+ with you, if you don't care about a sample, will you care about my invites?

Some sellers have known for weeks about their errors and haven't changed them. It's sad because not all buyers will realise the errors and request they are changed, this is embarrassing for buyer and seller on such an important document.

Rant over... on to my next invite sample *fingers crossed* :o

Do your own. We did all of ours. They came out looking exactly how we wanted. Cost next to nothing. Quality card and inserts printed on normal printer. As well as the saving money and getting them exactly how we wanted. We had a nice feeling of accomplishment.

If I was going to get someone do it for me, there would be no way at all I would trust someone potentially working from home with an inkjet printer as I'd be able to do better myself and did

Try a local print shop instead. Not something i would order sight unseen.

If you're that concerned about spelling and grammar, they are invitations please, not invites ;-)

If you want from someone online, try Etsy and Folksie sellers. There are plenty of independent websites too.

  • I just don't get people who take no effort on samples. Samples are meant to be your chance to show off what you can do. I wouldn't trust anyone who didn't care about them.

Try those guys for wedding invites. they did mine, and though not cheap, they were quite good.

Absolutely agree and many of those sellers sell on eBay. Believe me I have spent weeks looking at sellers on all sorts of sites and then their personal websites.

I want to buy the digital PDF now, so just paying someone for their creativity as I don't trust their print quality. I am plotting to use a local printers as nothing has met my 'vision' yet.

It just amazes me that people don't send super swish samples, surely they want their clients to say 'oooohhhhh' when they get them :rotfl:

    Invites changes to invitations :D

Such a faff, I'm considering eloping... that would please the MIL
