Ppi over 6 years ago with rci finance

I had ppi with my Renault in 2001 till 2003.
I sent my paperwork and claim form to rci whom have come back saying as it is over 6 years ago they have no details of my purchase and I will need to send my bank statements to show I paid ppi to them
The problem is my bank statements only go back 7 years so I cannot send them any proof.

All I could send was my paperwork for the purchase of the car and ppi payments but they won't accept this

What can I do?

Nothing exept send a SAR and £10 to your bank to see if your statements still exist.

Your PPI was pre regulation anyway, so you're chances were never great.

  • I have the same I've sent bank statements from the bank ...which they kindly sent me from 2003. I have received a letter 2 weeks ago saying I should get in touch with Renault . I paid £29 for 3 years. Don't know we're to go from here.

if it was before regulation which was brought in 2005 then its time to move on.

Your bank statements would only show a total overall payment, they wouldn't say if it was PPI

You have no chance of anything.

  • hi i had a similar conversation with RCI , i contacted them about PPI and they said ''you wouldnt of had PPI as it was after 2005 so there was no PPI''

i didnt understand the 2005 thing, what did she mean? as i am sure i paid for an extra insurance thing but when i became ill my payments was not covered ! i brought the car in 2010 and had it for 5years

It would suggest that they did not retail PPI after 2005. That was the year regulation started. So, perhaps they decided not to seek regulation for sale of insurances.

Even those that did sell PPI saw most pull out by 2010.

Which would suggest you didnt have it. Maybe you had GAP or one of the many other addons dealers like to sell.
