Trace standing order

Options
Hi
I set up a standing order to pay my rent to a letting agent late last year. This month they are telling me they have not received payment. I have checked my account and it has gone out as normal. There is certainly more than enough funds in my account and I am always in a positive balance. The sort code and account numbers are the same and have not changed. The agency are saying they do not have and are sending me threatening letters. TSB say the money has gone to them.

My questions
1. Can the standing order be traced so TSB can say with 100% certainty that it is in the beneficiaries account?

2. Did someone maybe change the SO details, transfer money to their own account and then change them back? Has my money been stolen?

TSB say they can do nothing. I am at a loss.

    1. Yes, the bank can trace any payment you made.

    2. Probably not, but you could always check the details online.
(If you can't see the history of changes, the bank certainly can)
To do what you suggest, they would also have to have changed your phone number (as the bank calls you to confirm a new payment account when done online), and you can check this online too.

    They are fobbing you off.
    They can trace the payment.
IIRC, one of the ways of tracing is 'Acquirer's Reference Number' that your bank gives you to pass to the recipient to check with their bank.
