So thats £2000, and nothing more to pay by the OP for a brand new car worth around £24K.

Is that a snide dig at people who use Motability? You do realise that it's a hire agreement, the car is never owned by the disabled person.

There are plenty of reasons for the blue pigs no longer being used - not least because they had a terrible safety record!

Jeremy Clarkson agrees, Robin Reliant's were a bit less than safe. Penrhyn's comments were I'm sure TIC and never intended to be misconstrued as """a snide dig at people who use Motability""".

Why not get the acenta version of the Qashqai as that's £1,099.00 ap payment or even the acenta premium for £999.00 exactly the same car,but less goodies.:)

I had a Note Tekna, moved to Juke ntec, don't miss the crazy auto lights and wipers which had minds of their own, Renault electrics!! Could not live without the Nissan Connect though.

Sooo motability saying we were due to renew March 30th before new AP went up Benfield had two days to add the order to the system but waited and that meant it was ordered under the new AP.
I am a tad miffed to say the least, we sat there January 23rd in Benfield placed the order yes he said the AP may change and he said "I will fight your corner if the AP does go up" when all he had to do was actually place the order in that two day period at the end of March and non of this would be happening, I would be annoyed at the delay in getting the car but would understand due to demand.

Might be worth giving them a ring.

    Many thanks
  • I ordered a new shape Qashqai 1.5dci Tekna on Motability in February this year. I had actually wanted to order the older shape model but was told it was no longer available.

Fortunately my advance payment was only £208, but I did spec a few options as well. The down side is that it will be the end if July/beginning of August before I actually take delivery of the car. Motabiity and the dealer have confirmed that despite the advance payment increases in April, I will stilll just pay the original £208 advance payment. I keep my current car until the new one is delivered.

It sounds like your dealer has messed up somewhat as the advance payment should be guaranteed at the point of ordering. But it sounds like your dealer may have taken your order before he should have?

If it is of any consolation, despite the long lead times for the new Qashqai, my local dealer said he doesn't think it will be removed from the Motability scheme next quarter as it is such a good seller on the scheme, even at the new advance prices.

Hmm well the idea was get the order on their system so we would not be effected to much by the delay created due to demand, what he should have then done on March 30th my renew date was add it to the motability system, therefore placing the order before the April AP increase.
My order is still not on the motability system now, I have to deal with Benfield one more time if I get nowhere then I have to inform motability and they said they will deal with them.
I have also contacted Nissan themselves and they are also going to investigate .
Had I just waited until my March 30th renew date I would have avoided the AP issue but probably had to wait until end of August for the car.
We only called in to have a look at the new QQ when it was launched and thought we were being done a favour by them adding it to their system early to beat the rush but that has just led to them forgetting to add it to motability before the AP increase.
