Wow, he's lovely! I can't believe that the black on his head has been 'covered' with other coloured fur! I bet he's darker underneath, but even so it's hard to see the little pup he was! I love the scruffy looking ones - they are very special.:)0

WOW!
Are you sure he's the same dog? :rotfl:
He looks very intelligent and alert now he's all grown up.0 -
Are you sure someone didn't swap him:p. He's gorgeous:)0

I know!! :rotfl: Definitely the same 'lil pupster but I hadn't realised how much he'd changed. You don't really notice when you see him every day LOL. He's definitely MOSTLY Jack Russell but there's obviously something a whole lot fluffier in the mix there somewhere (he was the runt and it was a bit of a rescue situation when we got him - didn't see the father but we know where his sister lives and she's still short-haired!) He's the friendliest little thing - not remotely snappy or barky. So whoever the fluffy gene donator was, I thank them for their placid temperament, although he definitely has the agility and stamina of a Jack Russell, that's for sure!DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Ah looks very much like my dog as he is now especially in the face, and mine is yorkie/patterdale so maybe he has some of one of those in him

If you want him to look more like a jack russell, just get his fur clipped back a bit more like a short haired dog to show the darker colours through etc. My girl had quite long fur when we got her and after her first grooming session (she was quite matted etc as got her at 5 months so we had her clipped right back) she looked completely different!Slimming World Member - Started 05/02/150 -
I know we probably should get him clipped but I can't bring myself to. I adore his scruffiness, but am I being cruel because he probably gets quite hot? How quickly does it grow back? I am trying to imagine how long he'd stand still for too ... the groomer would have to be pretty quick with the clippers LOL!DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Haha to be honest it grows back quite quickly. My partner first hated how she looked clipped right back but now he prefers the shorter look. I thought my groomer would have trouble with my girl as well but she said she is one of the best behaved that she grooms! She says spaniels are the worst for not staying still!
It also made mine look alot younger and she seemed to be able to move more easily. I just thought to myself, lets get her starting with a fresh coat and if I dont like it, it will grow back within months. I can put some pics up if you dont mind
Still cant get over how the face looks so similar!! Slimming World Member - Started 05/02/150 -
I think you are right, we should try it once and see how he looks. I would LOVE to see some pics please!DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

um - it looks like two different dogs!!!!!!!!!!!! both beauties though.
as a pup I would have said a bit of springer spaniel in the mix - but the grown dog looks more like a Terrier crossed with Bigfoot!0
