I learnt a very long time ago that B and Q are really the most useless company you could ever deal with.
We paid outright for a kitchen (not an expensive or large one) and fitted ourselves. Due to their complete stupidity we had half a kitchen (no work surface and not all the cupboards and incorrect doors supplied) for a good 2-3 weeks. I started complaining to them..worked up the levels in the shop and were told increasing lies about what was happening.
In the end one of their fitters came and fitted a cupboard free. Money back-not a chance. They base any compensation on how much the kitchen cost...not the inconvience of how long you were without a working kitchen. Also they limit how much.
So I don't think OP will get anything back. I would also expect them back on here shortly with an increasing tale of woe....0 -

If the vast majority of B&Q kitchens and bathrooms encountered the same problems you complain of I think the company would have gone into liquidation by now...0 -
Don't understand the responses here, it's poor customer service.
My motto is if you don't try you don't get, and a delay in delivery more than doubling the original proposed dates is significant.
I'd push for some sort of consideration, potentially worth speaking to the media to see if there's any mileage in that as well.
We're talking about a multi billion pound company after all, so it's not exactly a local bloke who's just struggling with his order book or third party deliveries.
Having said that service levels from such large retailers are often poor, and I wouldn't source from them but each to their own.0 -

B&Q and the customer agreed to a 4-6 week timescale on the 27th May. This takes the customer up to 8th July. The 4th August is less than 4 weeks from the 8th July.
The responses seem to be that the OP is uppity about having to pay for the kitchen before the install takes place, when she was originally quite happy to, er, pay for the kitchen before the install takes place."Facism arrives as your friend. We had a kitchen installed by B&Q a few years back, and the installation was delayed by a couple of weeks (we paid cash, so their finance wasn't involved), but the fitters were top notch, the kitchen looks lovely, shows no signs of wear, and I would use them again, without hesitation.
