You are returning post Summer Holidays when everyone will be coming back from everywhere. Unfortunately planes will get fuller and fuller, and prices will get continue going up. If you can afford it book asap, or delay for a couple of weeks if you can.0 -
And bear in mind that August is rainy season in Thailand, so not a good time to go there anyway. (However, you might get a good deal on flights since not many people want to be there.)
Remember that there are low-cost flights on Air Asia to Thailand from Macau (near to Hong Kong) so a cheap flight to Hong Kong, perhaps on Oasis, could be what you need.0 -
Don't paint all of Thailand with the same brush. While some places will have rain, others will have little, if any.
Supposed to be rainy season now. I can't go out in the daytime because it's so hot.

Fair point. I was in Thailand during August once, and on the island where I stayed the weather was fine. However: tourist information warned me against Chiang Mai, because it was flooded. They also warned me against the island I originally wanted to visit, because of the possibility of storms delaying my journey back to Bangkok. Since I had limited time and a flight to catch, that would have been disastrous.
My main point is that this is 'low season' for tourism in Thailand, so costs once there will be low.0
