Holiday park complaint - Letter before Action

I compalined to a holiday park as the swimming pool was out of action when I stayed there even though no notices were posted and noting on the website. Also public areas were filthy.
I asked for half money back as pool and public facilities were fundamental part of the 'offer'. We visited another pool which encurred costs. However nothing wrong with accomodation so we did stay there.
Complaints were made at time but ignored.
Company have offered us '50%' off another stay but there are restrictions (e.g. not school holidays) and there are always discount off the brochure price so in my view not a true offer and we wouldn't want to go back.
I am going to a Letter before action but wanted forum views as to whether you felt the company had made a 'reasonable offer'.
Thank you

I don't think they are being reasonable, however nor do I think your claim is reasonable.
What did you spend extra on using another pool? You can claim that. You can also claim a sum for 'loss of enjoyment' due to having to travel to a different pool, and if the other pool had fewer features.
Dirty public areas, probably just tough luck unless they stress how clean and lovely they are in their advertising.0
