Ok, update!
We've whittled down our starting point to either Saigon, or Phnom Penh and then explore either only Cambodia, or Cambodia & south vietnam.
I like the idea of starting in Saigon, traveling west through Phnom Penh, Siem Reap then time permitting, possibly catching the train to bangkok as recommended earlier in this thread to then fly back to singapore.
Using each of the cities as a base to explore it's surrounding (the coast, wildlife sanctuary's etc).
Got a copy of the Lonely planet Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos & Northern Thailand travel guide, so i'll be going through that and estimating how long to spend in each place.
