if i deposit some money from my credit card to my bookies account will this act as a cash withdrawal or a credit card transaction, if its a cash withdrawal the charges are terrible, and if its a card transaction will i still get the interest free period to repay it, thanks

I believe it will be classed as a cash withdrawel as with most gambling sites and you will be charged as such. Sorry.

It depends on who the card provider is. Nationwide, Barclaycard and Co-Op currently treat bookie deposits as a normal purchase whereas Halifax, Egg, MBNA, Morgan Stanley treat it as a cash (or pseudo-cash) advance.
I use a Skycard provided by Barclaycard cos they give me a free £5 bet for every £250 worth of spend ...including bookie transactions :j
