Well I have successfully completed day one of not gambling. Thank you for keeping me occupied today. I have just registered with the gamcare forum on their website, filled in their online questionnaire and am hoping with their support and the support from everyone on here tomorrow will be a gambling free day. Hoping to sleep well tonight.

All you can do is take it one day at a time. I'm currently trying to reduce sugar intake and have a small list of reasons why I should in the back of my purse. Sometimes just reading it is enough to give me a reality check.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. hi, didn't want to read and run. Is there somewhere you can get help? It's never easy to do things alone. could you not speak to citizens advice, they may know of groups etc that you could help support you.

Thank you have been telling friends at work so they know about it and now have someone I can call on if I feel the urge.
I've had the day from hell work wise today  so glad to get home tonight. The worse my day is the more I want to gamble to get enough money to not have to work but know it's not going to happen so just need to get these thoughts out my head.
Tomorrow is a new day and can only be better.
I would need serious help if I tried to stop my sugar intake I love it. Know it's not good for me but one thing at a time.
I returned a pair of shoes and a jacket today so that's £17 to go back into credit card. I also received an email to say my bullguard subscription has been refunded. Phoned simply health and cancelled my policy but I have paid up to 1st august so went and ordered new glasses and getting a free pair of sunglasses for £99 and have already submitted a claim form so my glasses will only cost me £9 once money has been refunded.
Received a £10 morrisons voucher through the daily mail rewards scheme. I don't buy the newspapers one of my friends dad does and he keeps me the codes so that's 100% free and there is nothing better than getting something for nothing
I've also been given a box of about 15 books today :T I love reading and am going to be spending more time doing that then I will pass the books on again.

You're doing well and it's great that you can talk to your work friends about quitting. Re your vouchers, what it try to do is make an op equal to the voucher value when I use one. I know they tend to be quite small amounts but it all helps.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Hello
I don't have much advice re gambling, my problems fall more into the eat loads variety. However decluttering wise your description of how much better life would be is a carbon copy of mine - aside from I don't have an OH. I would love to come home to functioning house without having to move stuff off the desk/table/bed/sofa to use it.
I came in yesterday from my friend's house, 3 kids, lovely garden, lovely house back to my pokey room and house full of crap. I just couldn't bring myself to do anything. Aside from have a little cry!
I found Flylady - the book very helpful. However much I try I can't make myself do a bit at a time for long tho, I am a bit all or nothing. Which is silly as that doesn't work either!!
I am using my summer holiday to tackle each room. bit like doing one of those puzzles made up of lots of squares. So far not so good but I am hopeful as I can't carry on like this!
SO, after that over share! I shall wish you luck and if you don't mind I shall pop in and cheer you on XXNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Hey
Well today has been day 3 I know it's not over yet but no time to think about anything apart from work!
In need of direction that's a good idea about the vouchers although I was thinking about saving them for Xmas but your idea is making me reconsider that .... Ooooh decisions decisions! Don't need to make my mind up yet tho don't need any shopping for now.
Hi Buffythedebtslayer
I also have lots of issues with eating too muchtrying to stop that tho. The de cluttering and cleaning has drawn to a standstill but will think about making a start again. If I'm in the mood to do it I get loads done but the mood rarely strikes... Need to push myself. I have the night off on Friday and Saturday off so will make a list on Friday night of things I want to get done and maybe formulate a plan and a timescale to see if that gives me the motivation to get things done on the Saturday.
I was just about to write that I had a no spend day but about 10 mins ago I went onto ebay and bought gazebo weights (should have been £20.99 but ebay had sent me a ten pounds money off voucher so were only £10.99) need them for the craft fayre am doing on Sunday. So actually it's a business expense so I have had a personal no spend day :T
That's the first in a long time  have also managed to stick to our meal plan again first in a long time...to be fair we are only 2 days in but it's the longest we've managed! Steak Monday and Tuesday and roast beef for tomorrow...will be glad when I get to Thursday for something basic for tea! Just thinking of it as de cluttering the freezer and not throwing away perfectly good food like I would normally do.
Going to get work clothes ready for the morning another thing I never used to bother about doing but is something that makes getting out of the house much easier.

I couldnt cope with Flylady - too scary!! However I did like the 'keep the sink shiny' mantra and I do stick to that - never go to bed before the kitchen sink is clear and shiny!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Could you work late this evening? It takes away temptation totally and is only one extra hour.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
