Anyone who has paid at this site (or indeed the various airport sites) after being sent a notice alleging keeper liability could bring an MCOL against the parking company on the grounds of deceit.

Trouble is, if they knew they were being deceived then they wouldn't have paid in the first place. So how do you get to them now to tip them off about getting their money back?

Don't hold your breath over refunds. PE have been found to have broken planning permission on at least two sites they "manage" for Aldi, The store in Dunstable had the condition that anyone could park there, not just Aldi's customers. Even when PE admitted that they had been ticketing non-customers they are refusing to refund any money paid over to them.

Then surely it is up to someone who has been thusly penalised to stand up to them, to involve TS, and, if they decline to act for themselves.

Will the local paper not run a story? Maybe encouraging people to attempt to claim the money back. If not, how much does it cost to hire one of those billboard vans? Would look good parked in a car park.

It has been said before, but this kind of thing might be the next PPI.

Even when the local paper and the MP get involved PE still won't budge, as you can see here:-

    http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/local-news/mold-aldi-rejects-calls-parking-7257453

“The fact that the cameras and the poles had not been granted planning permission from the time they were erected up to the present, does not render the evidence recorded by those cameras as invalid.“Aldi has carefully considered whether or not to reimburse those who were charged and has, for the reasons set out above, decided not to do so.”

Of course, for "Aldi" read "Parking Eye" who are pulling the strings.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

All it needs is someone to issue a claim for a refund against Aldi and PE jointly and the matter would be settled. It only costs £35.00.

  • Hello!

Sorry to be reviving an old thread but I was handed a PCN by Parking Eye for parking in the Southmpton Leisure World car park.

I've sent my 1st appeal to PE which they promptly refused and now I've been trying to gather info on what to write for me appeal to POPLA.

I was just wondering Benefit Master if it would be okay with using what you've written to POPLA stating that it is not relevent land. Leisure World and Town Quay are very close to one another so I'm assuming the same Bylaw applies.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks.

Yes indeed it does. Leisure World is on the Docks, so the bylaws apply.

Good luck, I'm currently helping someone on this in court, where PE are falsely claiming Keeper Liability.

Please report your ticket to Southampton Police, as it is a fraudulent claim by PE.

Parking champ you should really start your own thread and ask questions, but yes the point about relevant land is important for your appeal to include.

Start your own thread if you have any more questions.
