What is this plant?

I've tried googling it's characteristics and I've been told it may be a Red Hot Poker based on the occasional red flowers that accompany it, but the images on google don't seem to match that flower with this one. I think it looks really nice and I'd be interested in getting another or an evergreen alternative if possible, anyone able to help identify it?

    Crocosmia, possibly 'Lucifer' IMHO

Are the flowers like this? BTW it's well over-crowded in that clump and could be divided to create loads more plants that will flower better too

I was going to suggest crocosmia as well - check Lucifer if it's red flowers.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I haven't seen the flowers recently to say for sure but it looks similar at least. I like how thick it is though and I'd be too afraid of harming it to try separating it, but thanks for the info both of you!

Also, is this an evergreen? Because some sites say it is, but it seems to die off in the Winter and regrow in summer, I don't know if that's because it gets buried under snow though.

No, the leaves die back over the winter then regrow in the spring.
So if you're going to split it, early spring is the time to give it a go.
