Dishwasher problem - can I fix?

We have a gorenje dishwasher we inherited when we moved in. Unfortunately someone's knocked the plate off that covers the drain plug, therefore filter and drain was exposed.

I have reassembled now with the plate in place, tube in middle and filter underneath

I think at some point or even over time debris has got info the drain. Now when water is pumped out there is a harsh water type noise like it's being squeezed through a partially blocked tube.

Today it threw and e2 error code. Related to drainage issue

Could be the pump but as the cover to drain was off and filter ineffective I think it's blocked.

I don't know how to clean the drain. Assume I can't pour drain unblocker in the drain? But I can seem to figure out what else I could try
