Dacia Sandero Dealer Discount (haggling)

Just about to buy a new dacia sandero, mid spec, mid engine, couple of extras, around 8.5k.

The dealer refuses to take a penny off the book prices.

Is this normal, has anyone had any success getting money off a new dacia sandero?

They sell them as cheap as chips already, have no haggle pricing and are selling them hand over fist.

I dont think any dealers are discounting them.

We've recently bought a Dacia - They can't discount them because they make virtually nothing on the cars. It's a set price, you might get a free tank of fuel but other than that, they won't haggle.

    Cheap enough as it is.

And that's the beauty of the marketing, make the customer think they make nothing on them!

Dacia have a very strict no discount policy. There's maybe some give in a used one but not new. They are still pretty competitively priced already though.

Since its a Dacia I would just walk out and buy a decent car elsewhere.

Considering the new Dacia's have had decent reviews across the board and their owners seem happy enough, I wouldn't quite walk out.

I was going to buy a Sandero Stepway, but have cancelled the contract as my wife informed me a week later she wants a divorce, but all I managed to negotiate was an extra £50 on the scrap value of my old, crappy Clio and they were willing to possibly give me 3 months free on a service plan if I took one out.

Would have loved to buy the car, but going to have to take on the mortgage in just my name and need to get solicitors involved for the divorce, so I'll just make due with another old banger for now and save some money.

Looking myself at a Sandero 0.9 TCe Ambiance 5dr. Checked online and struggling to get any discounts.
On of the sites where you supply the car details you want and dealers throw deals at you I have been offered from a couple £50 off list or £500 off finance deal (but does not say what the finance deal is so I bet they make that back somehow).
Downside is the ones offering the £50 off list are over 100 miles away for the delivery of the car will no doubt more than eat up that discount so I would be better to pay the list at a local dealer (or try to get them to match the offer).

Looks like the no discounts policy is still going on.
Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.

    And why shouldnt it?

They sell cheap cars cheap, and offer no haggle pricing.

The dealers are on waifer thin margins too, so even if they were allowed to they'd have little to be able to give away as discount

Because if the dealers are all applying the same policy that sounds awfully like a conspiracy to fix prices, which is a serious criminal offence.
