  • I too am a killer of not very wee-beasties. Apparently a friend of your one was in my living room last night but was caught with a huge tumbler which he still had to squish up his legs to fit inside, and promptly thrown out of the window by Him. Brownie points ;) That is the third giant one in as many weeks. Not a fan of them. 'Donkey with pit-boots on' my dad calls them. He is dismayed at my lack of love for the big ones. I apparently kept a huge one in a sweet jar as a child, named him Harry and caught flies from my garden slide with a butterfly net, pulled the wings off and fed them to him...

1k!! That is incredible stuff, well done you!! :D I only just got paid but am already excited for the next one, as I seem to also be snowballing the cash a bit recently! I am sure you will hit your debt free date with flying colours! :)

not enough of the weekend left - how did that happen?

need to meal plan, at least for tomorrow! and I may actually have to crack the iron out of retirement - ds's non-iron shirts are distinctly creased. I have a work launch to go to tomorrow and my clothes for that are still washing - arrrggghhhh.

still packed lunch and school bags for kids done, dd is bathed and in bed. DS is in bath. I am hoping I have won the lottery - tis an absolute waste of money I know but occasionally I buy a lucky dip. I may check in a moment, until I do it is entirely possible that I am a millionaire. Sort of a quantum approach to financial security. always when i am fed up of my job. last bits and bobs to get for school - tomorrow evening (splashed out a further £12 on friday, a calculator and various maths items plus sharpies for dd, as she was swooning over them and hasn't had a single new back to school item this year). will also need to get fruit, brocolli, milk and bread.

what can I make for lunch tomorrow. it needs to be chicken-based - I have no ideas. off to cruise recipes for chicken soups.

  • Can't beat a good chicken sandwich :D

Crossing my fingers for the lottery win. Another friend has just won £25 :D haha! And I always used to do my lottery online. I decided to stop as it took the fun out of the waiting, just getting an email or not. And if I did get one I had invariably won £2.20 on EuroMil. :o

    meal planner to fill in:

monday: chicken, saute'd potatoes and veg (either peas/sweetcorn or something more interesting if anything is on offer)
tuesday: spaghetti bolognaise (use ribboned courgettes for me)
wednesday: me: chicken kebabs (delia recipe)
    thursday: ? jacket spuds
friday: me - something and roasted veg.
saturday: lunch: soup? eve hm pizza for kids, antipasti for me?
sunday: lunch: roast chicken, bns, brocolli etc, tea: ???? arsenic, anchovies, who knows.

so, also buy courgette and a pepper, a few large spuds

thanks lilt - am going to try a week without wheat and sugar though, I feel dire and sluggish and am horribly overweight - so as I can't afford fancy food at the mo, I'm going to try and limit the foods I seem to have no off-switch with, as a first step. From tuesday I'll also try to walk into work most days too, as fingers crossed mornings are going well so I've got the time to do it.

bah - I am not a millionaire and I've been up since 5, think a cold is brewing as dd (who is slept on the chaise in my room last night) woke me up at some point to say I was snoring, and I feel a little bunged up. Am about to go and snaffle uber doses of vitC to see if I've caught it early enough to ward off/diminish symptoms.

I plumped for making a fairly dull soup, which was made less dull by finding some very bendy celery in the bottom of a fridge drawer - (the mse spell checker is disputing both "bendy" and "plumped" - really? I mean I know I don't hold much with spelling conventions, and am generally fairly Tudor in my approach, but spelling pedants would be completely FINE with how I've formed these words, it's not even like I've made them up?).

well there goes the alarm - I can see I'm sleep deprived if I'm getting grumpy over spelling, I had better keep my head down at work. shall consider painting on a face for the launch as need to network, and it works better if people think you are awake/vaguely interested in what they are saying (I hate this sort of thing, I have social anxiety that spirals out of control when my depression is bad, I'm very well at the moment - but it is still a task that drains me of all energy and I have to work very hard at not obsessing over how badly I did it/came across).

I wonder if I have any make up left or if dd has used it all on her my little ponies????

3 now. the treaty has clearly broken down, civilisation as we know it may be at an end. I am in bed in my clothes as the last one did a runner out of the clean washing basket.

  • Honestly, those spiders. There was one on the rug next to my bed last night! I freaked and repeatedly hammered it with a loose shoe. Then flicked it onto the floor and sat watching it for movement before finally throwing it out of the window. :o

Meal plan looks good. Apart from the arsenic, although, did you know, rice contains arsenic? Jellytot is allergic to dairy & rice milk was something I could have given her instead, but the dietician tells me they do not recommend it for under twos as it contains the above... trace amounts, but still!!!!

On that note, probably best you avoid these things! I have to say that since I started meal planning and eating more cheaply, most meals come with pasta, rice, or sweet potato. Very carb high! Tonight I opted for last nights leftover veggie masala & whilst it was scrummy, the tub of creme fraiche in there really set my tummy off. :(

The spell check on this thing is awful. I ignore it ;)

so very tired, but lovely catchup lunch with friend and she's given me 2 bin bags of clothes and shoes for the children.

8.83% of debt paid as of yesterday.

As of today balances are in transference, so it'll take a while for that to show up fully in my totals, and then settle down with a new card at zero and the final interest on the high interest one will take another 30 days to land yet.

In the meantime I'll be switching my bank account just after pay day to give enough notice for payroll to make the change - perhaps at the same time they could arrange for my payslip to be sent to where I work instead of a building 2 doors down - as per repeat requests?

kiddles are lovely, funeral yesterday was as good as these things get, and I spent quite a lot of last night thinking about what to do with my life: and not sleeping, which is daft as one of my need-to-do things is more sleep.

ah, ds is up, either that or a large meteorite made of thudium (a very dense element) has crashed on his floor. I am off to explore/nag.

0% credit card is through, and transfers made. I'm very clearly not "there" on the thinking front, as I've been getting all excited about how I could "just treat myself" with a little something now I've got all this "new money" to play with. there's no "new money" just a new debt opportunity. Not only that, but the "little something" I was looking at late last night had graduated to a multifuel stove/burner......

    - I haven't bought anything, and I have cut the card up, but it was a bloody close thing.

in better news, energy company have finally fixed the typo I put in 10 weeks ago where I entered a meter reading 10x the correct one - so hopefully I should have a correct bill through soon - I've been making monthly payments that I estimate are around the right amount - so hopefully won't be too much of a shock (definitely less of a shock than apparently using 80,000kwh in 1 month due to the typo.......)
