Sunday opening Hours extended?

Was just wondering if the Sunday opening hours have recently been extended.
They were as far as I am aware always 1 to 6, but have now seen several Lidl's advertising new Sunday opening hours from 10am to 7pm. Anything changed, or are they using some kind of loophole?

Haven't heard anything,maybe they have just found a way around it,good on them,I say:T0

Isn't it based on floor space? Smaller shops aren't as restricted as the big ones.0

Was thinking about that, but the Lidl's that I have seen it at were some of the bigger ones, and I doubt they are under 280sqm (limit for Sunday Trading Rules).
I have seen it for example at the new one at Damolly Retail Park in Newry, and a quick google shows it is around 14000 sqf., therefore far exceeding the limit.0 -
The one in portrush is open longer on a sunday now too.0

The Lidls in Newry are having extended Sunday opening during the summer too. Describing Newry as a "holiday resort" might be slightly pushing it, but it's definitely something to do with the tourist season.0 -
Edge of the Mournes ? I wouldn't be surprised if Newry and Mourne had just defined the whole area that way.The Lidls in Newry are having extended Sunday opening during the summer too. Asda in Downpatrick also extend Sunday opening hours in the summer months - hardly your average holiday resort. When I asked someone in DSD who works on this legislation I was told that all of County Down is designated a holiday area.0

According to The Shops (Sunday Trading &c.) (Northern Ireland) Order 1997,
(9) For the purposes of this Article, a district council may by resolution—
(a)designate any area in its district as a holiday resort;

Roll on the day when we get proper Sunday opening hours, surely the God Squad can't hold this up for much longer
with emptying Churches and Chapels it is time for this to be put to the vote again, lets be proactive in Norn Iron for a change
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0
