Undercharged for Tickets

Almost 2 years ago I bought some airline tickets via a web agent paying by c.card.
They have just notified me that they undercharged me, as instead of billing me 1550GBP they billed me 1550EU by mistake.
They have informed me they intend to take the balance next month, however the amount they wish to take would mean I will be paying over 25GBP more than the original amount, due to the extra charges my c.card provider made because I was billed in euros (foreign transaction charge is 2.75%).
Firstly, do I have to pay them anything at all after this amount of time & secondly, if I do have to pay can I insist they take no more than the difference between my c.card bill & the original amount.

Were they always going to charge you in euros? Or should the payment have been taken in GBP?
If you agreed x flights for 1550gbp, then you owe them the money legally and morally. If you agreed x flights for 1550eu, then you do not owe them the money.
You shouldn't be out of pocket for their mistake though. So if they shouldve charged you in gbp....they should refund the charges you incurred or reduce the payment owed by that amount.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
You was charged back then in euros and incurred £25 in charges for this transaction... so no excuse really for not noticing the discrepancy0

Probably true, but the numbers matched (1550) & there were a lot of transactions on the statement, if it had been a larger amount I would have noticed. The company trades in several countries but is SUPPOSED to charge in GBP when you use their .co.uk site, which I did. The original quote & invoice were all in GBP, so yes it was their mistake.
I fully intend to pay, but if there was no LEGAL requirement to pay I was hoping to use that as leverage should they get stroppy. The only other thought is for them to issue a full refund in EUROS & then charge me again in GBP, that way I think I should get the charges back, but would I then get the same exchange rate, as the euro is worth less than when I booked.0 -
If you havent paid the agreed price they have 6 years to chase you for the underpayment. What price did you agree to? if the price was incorrectly listed on the website, and you paid all that was every agreed then you are fine.
If the website said £1550, and then when it came to pay it was 1550 euros, thats when they can charge you more.
You can ask them for the £25 charge back as that was incurred due to their mistake, but you will still owe the balance.0 -

Going by that logic the retailer should be unable to claim the extra owed now.
Doesn't mean that at all - it means op can't wholly blame the company for this not being dealt with earlier.
The money is owed - that is an indisputable fact.0
