Can I sue the Solicitor?

I would have thought litigation was much tougher than conveyancing then again what do i know.
My job is nothing fancy i am just a simple engineer that reads a lot, at least enough to get a couple of degrees over the years that is.
I did my own conveyancing about 12 years back more from interest i guess than anything else, still it was a worthwhile challenge. I have no idea how it works today.
