How long is no claims bonus preserved?

I am a company car driver with a full no claims bonus up to when I was given the car early this year. Does anyone know how long I will retain the benefit of the no claims i.e if I get my own car in three years time, will I have to start all over again?
If so, how long before I lose it?
My wife, who also has a full no claims bonus, wondered if
i. In year one - I take out a policy to take insure her car and then
ii. Year two - She insures again
and so on if that might keep both our no claims bonus alive?

Your alternating each year plan will work.
Up to 2 years "old" is currently the norm for most companies.0 -
Currently Co-Op will accept NCB up to 3 years old but they're very much the exception and there's no guarantee that they won't change their policy in the future. 2 years is the norm.
Alternating between you and your wife as policyholders is the way to go.0 -
Many insurance companies will let you use the years of no claims for your company car for when you next take out your own policy again.0
