    Have you received a written quote?
    Have you seen their full terms of business?
    Does their quote include everything you need (eg acting for lender? lease?)
    Are there hidden 'extras' in the TOB?

    Prompt emailing during the sales process does not mean prompt (or professional) emailing during the conveyancing.

    Having found their website, they are a firm regulated by the Council of Licensed Conveyancers and operate in the 'volume market'.

    In practice, this often means that you don't have a dedicated fee earner dealing with your file from start to finish.

    It often also means that, as G_M says, they have low initial quotes because they subsequently add on lots of extras e.g. for completing within 14 days of exchange.

    I'd always want to use a local solicitor personally.

    or

    * completing SDLT returns
    * acting for lender
    * undertaking 'additional' searches
    * professional indemnity insurance
    * postage, admin, fax.... :rotfl:

    We completed on a house in March using them. I think it depends who you get working on your case. We had a change of fee earner 2 weeks into the process but Hugh (the second fee earner) was fantastic. Answered every question promptly and chased hard for responses for us.

    I would say that you need to read the paperwork very carefully as there are lots of potential extras that they charge heavily for, but there are tick boxes to be able to refuse those services.
