Rent and save a deposit. Build equity rather than expecting to move into a 4 bed detached straight out of school. People can and do buy houses in these areas and many others even on modest salaries.0

It's a fictional series - what a surprise!
Father Christmas couldn't afford to live at the North Pole either. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I think this is probably the most pointless study I have ever seen0

I've been saying this since Michelle Fowler in Eastenders was a student and single mother - yet raised a mortgage on her Albert Square house.
I remember that Kevin and Sally Webster, in Corrie, bought their terrace from Hilda Ogden for £14,000.
It's like the kids in Summer Bay who can afford to eat/drink at the diner every day - and still do other stuff too. Or how everybody can afford to leave their house at all in most soaps.0 -
Is not being able to afford a home in a particular area the same as being left homeless? If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0

Fictional characters can't afford fictional homes in a fictional village. :rotfl:
This study was most definitely money well spent.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

I'm afraid things might be even worse, I suspect that Fred Flintstone and Barney were only able to afford their houses because they stole the building materials from the quarry where they worked.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

My favourite are the characters who over the years who do one shift a week in the Vic on minimum wage who can afford their own 1 or 2 bed flat in the square.0
