Ebay and Paypal Fees

I must admit never thought or realised before, but ebay take a fee off the postage charge, so if you charge the actual price of postage which i do, what with ebay taking that and paypal taking their share of fees .
I am all for ebay taking a FVF off the cost of the goods, but i don't think its fair that they do off the postage.
just a rant really :mad:

I suspect most of us are used to it now, even if many don't like it. The announcement about this was a year ago and implementation started in September2013. Paypal have always taken fees off the postage and packing.
Also, don't forget to add your costs on the postage and pcking, Petrol and time goinbg to the post office etc.

The reason they do it like that is because an awful lot of sellers were charging £15 postage for a lightweight item & selling for 1p-99p. That is why it is easier to do "free postage" & add in a %age to cover fees etc. Not unfair at all. Nothing says you have to sell using ebay/paypal is there?0

Don't forget Amazon charge you commission on the amount they allow you for postage as well, I don't see anyone complaining about that on here and they've been doing it forever.0

It always seems a bit fairer on Amazon as they tell you exactly to the penny how much you will get if/when the item sells. With Ebay it is always a bit more complex with listing fees, final fees, PayPal fees. You can still work it out but I do prefer the way Amazon tells you your exact earnings.0
