Huge difference between my Experian and Equifax credit ratings

Options
I have been signed up to the Experian website for a while now, and monitor my credit rating and report fairly frequently - I have a very good rating with a score of 985 (out of a maximum 999) which Experian class as 'excelent'....

I recently had an offer to trial the Equifax option for a month and thought i would sign up, see which site is the most user friendly and has the best options and added features. Then i would either close subscription to Equifax or Experian accordingly.

But when i saw my Equifax report, i was horrified to see that they rate my credit report as only 'Fair' with only 393 out of a possible 500+ maximum score!

The reason for this poor score being that i have been on the electoral register at my current property for under 2 years.....

However - I have been on the Electoral register since August 2011, which is reflected on my Experian credit report and is confirmed my the my local Council Records Office (although they do say that the list for that period was not 'live' until November 11

This seems like a lot of weight is placed on this (incorrect) information by Eqifax, when every other aspect of my credit raring/situation is in really great shape - and i wonder how this will effect me if in were to apply for any credit etc?

Don't worry, the credit 'score' provided by these companies won't make a bit of difference for any credit you apply for.

Electoral roll history is an important factor when lenders profile you. If you've lived and worked in the UK in the past 6 years then there's few reasons why not.

Yet another thread - surely it's not too difficult for people to read a few threads before posting?
