Nursery and Toys.com - avoid them

Wish I'd done a search on this board first before ordering from this company.

I ordered a car seat at £25 as it was a good price, plus other stuff to make it up to £50 to get free delivery. Checked my account on their site and it says it's all despatched.

Got an email yesterday afternoon at 3.44pm saying nearly everything cancelled (including car seat) - only sending two items total of less than £5 and charging me £6.99 delivery! Email at 3.45pm minute later to say the items have been despatched.

Telephone number 'off-line whilst sale on'. I have sent two emails complaining this morning - I will post their response. It is ridiculous to procede with an order for 3 small items when delivery is £6.99 - they should have contacted me to check if I wished to proceed. Plus, I've waited in all week as the account said they were despatched. Also, the 'cancelled' items are still showing as in stock on the site. I know it's only £6.99 but it pretty dodgy practise to me and I'm very cross.

both times I've ordered from them I've had similar happen to me only I've had to chase and chase them to get them to actually send the stuff they did decide to sell me :rolleyes: First time I thought it was just because it was the sale on so gave them another go. I won't bother again!

Take screen prints showing that they have them in stock even though they are not selling them to you. It may be useful to have this when taking your complaint forward.

I've never had any problems with them, quite the reverse actually! I've placed 3 orders now which have all arrived complete within 7 days, and they even refunded the delivery charge on the last order (it was under £50) as I wanted to combine it with order #2 to save on postage but had just missed them dispatching it by an hour or so!

Great service and prompt replies whenever I've had to email them about something!

I also ordered from them and made sure my order was over £50. However, when they despatched the items, one was out of stock so the total was just under £50. However, I complained about this and they refunded the charge immediately.
