Scottish Power's Credit where credits due

Has anybody had any experience of this?
For those that don't know, they offer:
Today, we’re one of only two British energy suppliers to reward customers who pay by convenient monthly Direct Debit if their account is at least £133 in credit. And this was also a ScottishPower innovation.
Under our new Direct Debit Bonus Scheme, you may get a bonus if your account is in credit at the time of your next annual assessment. For every full multiple of £33 above the minimum credit value of £100, you’ll get £1 back.
So that’s £1 for a credit balance of £133, £2 for £166 and so on, up to a maximum of £12 for £496.
You don’t even have to do anything to claim any reward you are due. The bonus amount will be automatically credited to your energy account.
I have just received my annual assessment and was up £396 but didn't receive the £8 I believe I was due, so I emailed them.
I just received a phone call from somebody who asked for a link who wasn't aware of the promotion! After I gave her the info, she put me on hold for a few minutes.
When she got back to me, she said that I wasn't entitled to a refund because I would have needed to be in credit for £396 for the whole year! Now that seems incredibly unlikely, and to be honest a bit of a con. I have been in credit almost all year, but obviously not that much from the start. She did say that she was pleased that I had now received my free refund... Not sure why I would have to pay for my refund anyway.
So has anybody else got money from this scheme?

Just to update as it may be of interest to somebody in the future, I emailed the complaints team at Scottish Power and received a farly prompt response stating
We have recently been implementing an enhancement to our systems and during this process we have come across unexpected technical issues that are affecting the normal administration of our accounts. I have reported this incident to our technical support team.
They will be crediting my account with the correct money, so fair play to them.
