Hiya hoping someone could help me please, each time I try to view item number 171357497905 the item shows up but then I'm redirected to another page which my virus security software doesn't like. I've tried looking at the sellers other items, 3 in total and it does exactly the same thing. When viewing them on my phone I go to the description the Ebay login page then comes up when putting the login details in it comes with your account is temporary locked, to verify your details confirm your bank details. I have reported this to Ebay and they have said I have viruses. Is this happening to anyone else please, obviously don't put your details in and I have changed my Ebay password. Many thanks Vicki

Item (Swim Spa 4 Person Jacuzzi Hot tub Contact before bid) shows up fine for me. No redirects or anything.
(I checked whilst NOT being logged in to Ebay).
My only observation is that this seller has no feedback as a seller.0 -

Oh how strange, many thanks for taking a look for me bod1467. I have tried it on mine and my husbands phones and as soon as we press description it redirects. I've tried on the tablet and laptop too. Also tried it not logged into Ebay and we still get the same problem. Now running virus scan again but nothing is coming up, I'm totally puzzled as to why it is doing it. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening please and how I rectify it
. Thanks Vicki

dogmaryxx many thanks for checking, that is the page I'm being redirected to as well. Ebay insists it's my computer, I was on the phone to them for almost an hour. Just got to convince them now that it has done it for someone else too, a friend of ours got redirected too, so that's 2 other people. Thanks0

Thank you JJ Egan and Biggles for checking. Ebay are meant to be getting back to me either today or on Monday. Just hope in the meantime that people don't get caught out and put in their details. I have reported it but they keep insisting it's a problem my end, don't know what else I can do, unless others report it they may then remove the listings.0

I just got this same url redirect looking through TVs for sale - a Panasonic Plasma item 281360673158
The "contact me before bidding" message on the listing is usually a dead giveaway of a hacked/hijacked account.
Edit to add: Chrome browser (with adblockplus enabled) does proceed through with the redirect although it knows it's a reported phishing website, but Firefox 30 with adblockplus AND noscript enabled..doesn't redirect.0 -

I had exactly the same problem last night when I was searching for an item , from the 89 results ebay found based on my search criteria I clicked on a description to enter the listing and was then redirected to an external website , luckily my security software stopped it. So no it is not your PC its a very serious security issue with ebay. I have spoken with them at length this morning and they were very cagey about it but were forced to acknowledge they have an issue.
The capability to embed a URL into the descriptor of an item description in ebay shows how vulnerable ebays security must be, a very worrying problem not just for ebay but for many non savy members of ebay. The item I tried to view last night had already been removed this morning before I spoke with them.0 -
The ability to embed HTML into listings is useful as it allows users to add more images or videos without incurring ebay fees.
This does however, leave them open to redirect scripts and such like.Never Knowingly Understood.
