Are my nets too tight?
Trying to protect my strawberries now. The two plants at the front have grown outside the raised bed so they have not been netted. As i am now concentrating on the fruit and not the leaves , i am hoping this netting will not strangle the plants and damage the fruit- but am i Wrong?
i constructed it last night but didn't realise it would be so tight!

Not ideal, lots of growth in such a small place, but I don't think you will be doing to much harm. Any loss in size /damage to the leaves is easily out- weighed by protecting the plants from the birds.
Not going to be easy spotting the ripening fruit.0 -
Thanks . I had intially planned on moving them to a larger raised bed nearby, but it hadn't rotted down enough there at the time for me to move them there, en masse. i moved a couple to the larger bed and one of them has been quite successful so far! After this years crop, they will all get moved!"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170
