I bought a blender of a highstreet retailer, after opening the box at home I found mud and dirt inside and all over the blender. They are refusing to exchange it because I didn't take it back within two days, what are my options?

How long did you have it?
They could be being unreasonable. If you had it for a month, maybe not so much.0 -

I had it two weeks before I was able to take it back to the store, I had it about 3 hours before I opened it and discovered the mud.
Am I right in thinking that under consumer rights I'm entitled to an exchange if it is not fit for purpose?0 -

Did you contact them at all after the three hours to complain?
Not being able to make it back is fine, but not contacting them about the problem isn't
This is not a faulty item, it is a damaged item. Yes you do have rights, but they may be thinking you have damaged/dirtied it yourself in the 2 weeks you've had it.0 -
Most 'highstreet retailers' would give you 28 days.
Name and shame!0 -

I didn't contact them actually, I just assumed it would be fine as everything was still in its original packaging, I didn't even take it out of the box, just opened it up, saw the mud and dirt, and decided to get it exchanged when I had chance.
I really didn't think it would be a problem.
The store refused to exchange, or refund, I then contact them via twitter to take it public and they said the exact same thing. Neither the store or their head office mentioned they suspected I damaged it myself, they just kept repeating their policy is 2 days...
I don't really know what my options are now.0 -

This exact same story was posted earlier in the year - are you the same person? The stories are identical.0 -
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0
