That's not a crack but a cut, personally I would get it changed ASAP.0

The car was parked on the drive for last two days and it just appeared today when I returned from a School run. it that a slashed tyre.0

Agreed, maybe struck a sharp kerb, pothole or road debris such as broken bottle, it needs looking at by someone qualified to see how deep the cut is and if any cords are showing, who may or may not be a tyre fitter.
It might be worth a major repair, and i do know what i'm talking about here, but whether it would be worth doing by the time you've found a professional tyre repair workshop (not the aforesaid tyre fitter who isn't qualified) and paid the costs involved, is debatable, probably not for a common size.0 -

the tire is defective change for spare provide receipt to the place that you had purchased.
don't drive with it on, its a dangerous defect.0 -
That pretty much looks like you've rolled over something sharp on the road, It needs checked to see how bad it is and if it will take a repair, but it's not going to self heal.0

My VW Polo passenger side front tyres has a visible crack, tyre brand EVENT was replaced on last MOT Jan 2014, dones 4300 miles only. Is it ok to drive with this?

Speaking as someone who is unlucky enough to be in the process of destroying a full set of Event car-dealership-ditchfinder-specials at the moment (as quickly as possible), I'd suggest you get it changed for something decent as quickly as you can regardless of the crack/split/cut.
Even if you don't want to spend big money, there are plenty of mid-range budget tyres like Kumho, Falken, Nankang, Hankook, Federal or even Primewell which will be a significant improvement.0 -

When a tyre cracks it will crack along a stress line - the grooves in particular.
Thats not a crack. Something external has caused that.0 -
Agree with everybody else - that's damage, not a fault.0

Wow! Nearly 100% agreement in the motoring section of MSE!!! Perhaps England have got a chance after all
It's a cut, it may or may not be a problem depending how deep it is. The fact you're asking on here suggests you don't feel confident to make that call on your own inspection and there's no way any of us can say from the other side of a screen because we can't see inside it.
Rather than asking a tyre place (who may have a vested interest in selliing you another one) pop into a local MOT garage and see if they'll take a quick look - if they say it's ok then it's ok.
If they do say it's ok then ignore any doom n gloom scaremongering you may hear elsewhere from people who haven't actually seen it and apparently change their own tyres as soon as a stone lodges in the tread "cos it's safety innit"0
